General Expiry Dates for Anti-Seizes, Thread Compounds, Sealants & Lubricants

Anti-Seizes

Minimum of 5 years from date of manufacture.

EP Greases

5 years from date of manufacture (typically 5 years) for the following:

Silicone Greases

Minimum of 5 years from date of manufacture for the following:

Tool Joint & Drill Collar Compounds

Standard grade Tool Joint & Drill Collar Compounds is 5 years from date of manufacture.

ECF™ Product Line & HPHT Thread Compounds

3 year shelf life when unopened and stored in nominal conditions and 6 to 9 months once opened.

Thread Sealants

5 years from date of manufacture except for the Jet-Lok products which are only 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Lubricants for Open Gear and Wire Rope Applications

5 years for non-aerosols and 3 years for aerosols from the date of manufacture.

Jet-Lube® EZY-Turn®, EZY-Pak™ Valve Lubricants

Valve lubricants, sealants & packing products are 5 years from the date of manufacture and Jet-Lube EZY-Open™ and SAG-D Valve Products – 3 years from the date of manufacture when stored in nominal conditions. SAG-D may last in excess of the 3-year period after more study is done.

Jet-Lok® III Epoxy Kits

5 years from the date of manufacture when stored in nominal conditions.

Coatings

Coating products (except Z-Plate™) are a minimum of 2 years from the date of manufacture. Rust-Guard™ in BULK form has a shelf life of five years from the date of manufacturing when properly stored unopened between 0°C and 50°C.

Specialties

Minimum of 2 years from the date of manufacture except for the following which have 5 years:

Cleaners

Minimum of 5 years from the date of manufacture for all non-aerosols and is 2 years for aerosols.

Aerosols

Aerosol products except for the coating products (except Z-Plate™) is a minimum of 3 years from the date of manufacture. The coatings, such as Rust-Guard™, Moly-Mist™, C-Plate™ and Z-Plate™ are up to two years.
